What is coffee?

Coffee is a beverage made from roasted coffee beans. It is the source of energy for some people throughout the day. It is a widely consumed beverage worldwide, and coffeehouses or cafes are popular places for people to gather and enjoy various coffee-based drinks. Coffee can be served in different beverage forms depending on preference. Find out which coffee drink would suite your palette .

Different Coffee Types

ESPRESSO SHOT

Espresso is a concentrated coffee beverage that is brewed by forcing hot water through finely-ground coffee beans. Espresso shots are typically one once drinks that are have a taste of bitterness, acidity, saltiness and sweetness. Most espresso shots drinkers enjoy sipping on their drink rather then taking it all at once.

AMERICANO

An Americano is a popular coffee beverage that is made by diluting a shot of espresso with hot water. It is simlar to iced cofee but stronger since espresso is used. The name "Americano" is believed to have originated during World War II when American soldiers in Italy would dilute the strong espresso with water to more closely resemble the coffee they were accustomed to back home.

COLD BREW

Cold brew is a method of making coffee that involves steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in cold water. Cold Brew tends to be on the stronger side. Cold brew coffee is also less acidic and smoother than hot-brewed coffee. It's known for its mellow flavor and can be customized with various add-ins like sweeteners, flavored syrups, or cream.

LATTE

A Latte is a popular espresso-based coffee beverage that consists of espresso, steamed milk, and a thin layer of frothed milk on top. Lattes do not have as much caffeine content as others. The smooth, creamy texture the steamed milk which can softens the strong espresso taste. They are often customizable with flavored syrups, such as vanilla or caramel.

MACCHIATO

A Macchiato is a type of coffee that includes espresso with frothed milk on top. The ratio of espresso to milk in a macchiato is higher on the espresso side compared to other espresso-based drinks like lattes or cappuccinos. There are two main macchiato types: Espresso Macchiato & Caramel Macchiato. The one in the picture is a Espresso Macchiato. The amount of milk is minimal, and the focus is on the strong flavor of the espresso.

CAPPUCCINO

The Cappucino is similar to a latte but with different ratio. In a Cappucino there is a balanced combination of equal part espresso, steamed milk, and frothed milk. resulting in a well-balanced and flavorful beverage. It is known for its rich and velvety texture. Cappuccinos are often served in smaller cups compared to other espresso-based drinks, emphasizing the concentrated and intense coffee flavor.
